Turn a tweet into an Instagram Reel

Reels are 9:16 at 1080 by 1920, and Instagram lays its own interface over the frame: the caption and audio label along the bottom, the action buttons up the right edge. A tweet card placed dead centre survives all of it; one placed low gets covered.

This page starts at Reels dimensions with a motion preset that finishes early and then holds the readable card, because the last frame is what people screenshot and what shows as the thumbnail. Reels needs at least three seconds of video, so the length starts above that floor.

Questions

What size should a Reel be?
1080 by 1920 pixels, 9:16. Instagram re-compresses everything on upload, so exporting larger does not improve the result.
How long does a Reels video need to be?
At least three seconds. This page starts at five, which gives the animation time to land and hold on the readable card.
Can I use the same file for TikTok and Shorts?
Yes. All three use 1080 by 1920 MP4. Keep the card centred and it stays clear of each platform's overlays.
