Padding is set generously on purpose: the grid thumbnail is a further centre crop of your square, so the tweet needs margin to survive it. Pick a gradient or brand colour for the surround and the post will look designed rather than screenshotted.

- What size should a tweet image be for Instagram?
- 1080 by 1080 pixels for a square feed post. Instagram will re-compress anything larger, so exporting bigger does not help.
- Why is the padding so large by default?
- The feed grid crops your square again into a smaller thumbnail. Extra margin keeps the tweet text away from where that crop bites.
- Should I include the like and repost counts?
- Usually not for a designed post, so they are hidden here. Turn metrics back on if the engagement numbers are the point of the graphic.
