Convert a tweet to JPG

JPG is the safest format for uploading somewhere you do not control. Every platform, CMS and messaging app accepts it, and the files are a fraction of the size of a comparable PNG, which matters when you are posting from a phone on mobile data.

This page opens in JPG mode on a solid white background, because JPEG has no transparency and an unfilled area would otherwise export as black. Drop the quality slider if you need a smaller file, or raise it if the tweet contains a photo.

Questions

Is JPG or PNG better for posting a tweet screenshot?
JPG for speed and reach, PNG for maximum text sharpness. For a text-only tweet the difference is small at high quality; for a tweet with a photo, JPG is usually the better trade.
Why can a JPG not be transparent?
The JPEG format has no alpha channel. Any transparent area is flattened, so this page forces a solid background to avoid an unexpected black fill.
Does JPG blur the tweet text?
Slightly, at low quality settings. Rendering at 3x and keeping quality high makes the compression essentially invisible.
