Convert a tweet to JPG
JPG is the safest format for uploading somewhere you do not control. Every platform, CMS and messaging app accepts it, and the files are a fraction of the size of a comparable PNG, which matters when you are posting from a phone on mobile data.

This page opens in JPG mode on a solid white background, because JPEG has no transparency and an unfilled area would otherwise export as black. Drop the quality slider if you need a smaller file, or raise it if the tweet contains a photo.
Questions
- Is JPG or PNG better for posting a tweet screenshot?
- JPG for speed and reach, PNG for maximum text sharpness. For a text-only tweet the difference is small at high quality; for a tweet with a photo, JPG is usually the better trade.
- Why can a JPG not be transparent?
- The JPEG format has no alpha channel. Any transparent area is flattened, so this page forces a solid background to avoid an unexpected black fill.
- Does JPG blur the tweet text?
- Slightly, at low quality settings. Rendering at 3x and keeping quality high makes the compression essentially invisible.
